Ottawa, ON- Michael Cooper, MP for St. Albert-Edmonton said that the Liberal government`s Speech from the Throne was short on details but long on spending commitments.
In the past 30 days the Liberals have gone on a massive spending spree and put Canada back into debt. They plan to pay for their spending spree by gauging middle-class Canadians with tax hikes, including a carbon tax that will kill jobs in Alberta`s energy sector.
Cooper continued:
At a time when 35,700 Canadians lost their jobs last month, including 14,900 Albertans now is not the time to raise taxes.
Cooper also expressed disappointment that the Speech from the Throne completely ignored Alberta.
The speech made no mention of Alberta`s vital energy sector. Tens of thousands of Albertans including many working people living in St. Albert-Edmonton rely on the energy sector. The speech was also silent on getting critical pipeline projects completed
It demonstrates that Alberta jobs and Alberta`s economy are just not a priority for this Liberal government. Albertans can be assured that the Conservative Party will stand-up for the interests of Alberta since this Liberal government won`t.
